Cornet is an unincorporated community in Island County, Washington. Cornet has public docks and a marina. Washington State Parks also runs Cornet Bay Retreat Center.
Geography[]
The community takes its name from Cornet Bay in which the town resides. Cornet Bay was named after John Cornet, a pioneer settler.
Cornet is less then 10 miles north of Oak Harbor and 12 south of Anacortes. Deception Pass is directly west of Cornet.
History[]
A post office called Cornet was established in 1910, and remained in operation until 1917.
