History[]
In 1902, it was built by railroad engineers as a joke, possibly because it is near Coffeepot Lake. The area was built up along the railroad tracks and never amounted to much. A post office called Bacon was established in 1911, and remained in operation until 1916. Today it is empty land with a few homesteads.
